is the best tone mapping I have ever seen, including professional non

"Lumagen's claim of producing studio-grade
reference images is no stretch of the imagination. Indeed, it produced some
of the finest images I've seen in my time as a calibrator, not to mention
the best looking HDR images I've witnessed from any projector regardless of

unbelievable product from a great team who really care. thank you so much.
It really is a set and forget product once its setup how you like it and is

Lumagen has proven to be the backbone problem solver of my entire home
theater. Having a scope screen, if someone were to remove my Lumagen from my
rack I would feel it missing immediately! The fact that Jim & Pat continue
to make it better is bonkers. Other companies would have already released
new hardware telling you it’s impossible to make it any better with the
existing hardware and make you buy new hardware." --Jrod79 on AVS Forum

"Just
upgraded my Radiance Pro 4446+ to the new 5348. There is magic in this new
box!
My living room "theater" is currently running a Kaleidescape Strato S as the
source, fed to the new Lumagen 5348, with video out to a 77" LG OLED GX
display, and audio out to a Trinnov Altitude 16 followed by Bryston amps and
Thiel speakers currently in a 10.1 Auro-3D immersive configuration.
The soundstage is wider, and the audio sounds more natural, less smeared,
less harsh, with more clarity. And while the 5348 is billed as an
"audiophile upgrade", there are distinct improvements to the video chain as
well - the result being the removal of that last little bit of noise,
picture is now crystal clear with more detail and a far more realistic
image. For me, the 5348 breathes new life into older movies; I couldn't be
happier!
I bought a Keces P8 linear power supply to see if it made a difference with
my 4446+ (latest model), and it did decrease the video noise somewhat, but
there is a lot of additional improvement once moving to the 5348. It's
definitely a keeper!" --Kristenmarie

"Fantastic
product for getting the best out of your system and for simplifying use of
the system. The dynamic tone mapping of HDR works remarkably well and with
my RS3000, automatically switches back and forth between HDR and SDR.
Another great feature and that I really like about the Radiance Pro is the
auto aspect ratio function with my Panamorph DCR lens. Whenever a scope
movie is played, the Radiance Pro automatically fills my scope screen. When
a 1.85 or 16:9 movie or show is played, the Radiance Pro fills the height of
my scope screen. Between these two functions (HDR auto switching and auto
aspect control) it has made my system very family friendly, about as simple
to use as a regular TV."

"As
this year ends, I would like to thank Jim for all the updates to the
Radiance Pro. I am so Happy that I now have the perfect DTM which I aspired
to have the first time I watched Dolby Vision in a Commercial Cinema (and so
many useful features such as multiple inputs in the Lumagen for my sources
with Lumagen, auto AR and many many others). I am at a point that the
Lumagen is doing its thing in the background and I don't see it or even know
its there in the Video chain - it is just doing its job.
Also, my days of Doodling with AR and all the settings etc are behind me...
I am so done with tweaking this and that - so time to sit back and enjoy the
great movies out there with the most fantastic picture in my personal
Cinema."

just want to say that I am so incredibly pleased with how far HDR DTM and

"So
first reports on 5348 in situ. Things I didn’t test when Gordon demoed:
Firstly, Apple TV performance. Gordon set up mem B to force a 1080p EDID for
HD material. This stops the Apple TV scaling, and is the only way it can be
done. The results are superb, and it elevates the streaming experience
substantially. No real surprise there. I actually also quite like what the
Darbee does on streaming....had it on my Oppo 105d, and was sad when it
went. So that’s a plus.
DTM on 4K HDR is also spectacular and provided a good lift to the Apple TV
in 4K, same as it did for the disc spinner.
Sound....well again a decent improvement on Apple TV and a little from my
Audiocom modded Pioneer. Everything sounds a bit cleaner, less cluttered.
Similar impact to putting a new DAC in a stereo system....so not
insignificant. All this with standard PSU ...
I’m very happy I went with the 5348, although I’m sure the 4242 would have
satisfied. If you want the best the 5348 certainly adds value, and in these
days of diminishing returns I think it represents a decent investment if you
have a high end system. Certainly with an NX9 and Trinnov it was no contest"

"Please
do take this as a big compliment - not only is the Lumagen a great product,
but, I would also suggest that one of the reasons behind the continued
success is confidence. So, when someone buys a Lumagen, it comes with a
reputation - second to none customer service, and super important ,
confidence that the end user has in the product. As in the after sales help.
This is a reputation that you cannot buy, but is earned. And I would say Jim
, that you guys have earned a huge reputation for continued excellence." Mark J

"I
have been an audiophile for well over 40 years and a “videophile” for about
30. And I have been in the audio business on and off for much of that time.
As one might imagine, many, many, many thousands of dollars worth of
equipment have come and gone through my various 2 channel rooms and
theaters.
But, with just a very few exceptions, they have come and gone. And for the
most part, the equipment I have owned has carried with it a support
structure that is, at best, sketchy.
The very few standouts in the categories of superb quality/feature set of
product, superb quality of support and longevity in my room I can count on
one hand. The Lumagen, and your company are on that short list.
When I first purchased the Lumagen Radiance Pro (about 9 months ago from
Craig Rounds), Craig had me insert some settings on it until he was able to
get my house to perform a full calibration. My primary motivation for the
purchase was to improve the HDR performance of my JVC RS4500. I was very
pleased right out of the gate. It made a big difference between having it in
my video chain and not. But the constant upgrades your company has provided
over the least 9 months have taken this product from “big difference” to
“stunning video”.
You and your team clearly stay very tuned in to the comments made by your
users (a very rare situation) and as a result, have continued to offer
constant product improvement. I have no doubt that my Lumagen will be in my
system for many, many years.
Thanks for providing this kind of product and product support. A rarity in
the industry and very much appreciated."

"I
look after a number of DLP cinema projectors globally and some Dolby cinema

"I downloaded your new [release 060623] today on
my fantastic Sony GTZ380. In HDR I have 80% of the power. I have 262 Nit
which is before this I thought you couldn't do much better. Instead you have
worked a miracle, it seems to have even more light and contrast in the
scenes, in short, a masterpiece."

"The
Lumagen has so far proven to be an absolutely essential component in my
system. Anyone with a projector should be running with a Lumagen. I can go
so far as to say it has made as much of a difference for the output as
upgrading my Sony projector from a previous Sony 675ES (1800 lumen) to the
5000ES (5000 lumen). Now the color pops and the dark scenes are very black.
This visual enhancement in combination with the aspect ratio control makes
it absolutely worth the price of admission!"

"Hi
Jim. I forgot to mention some feedback on the new unit. You might have
undersold the difference the new unit makes sound wise! I had forgotten
initially about the sound upgrade to sound. But during use I was able to
turn volume up higher than normal and when I did it was fuller with more
depth and impact. At that point I remember you mentioned it might make very
subtle difference in sound. Without all the glare (that I now realize was
there) it’s made big difference without the fatigue I originally had at
higher volumes." TJ Hook by email
"The Lumagen is absolutely essential for playback of
HDR content with my JVC RS620 projector. Prior to buying the Lumagen I was
using a set of static gamma curves and automated switching with an external
device based on HDR metadata. This was error prone owing to inaccuracies in
the HDR metadata, and generally provided a mediocre picture with a lot of
fiddling. The Lumagen was plug and play and delivers an outstanding picture
with adaptive dynamic tone mapping. In addition to the quality of the
picture, the support is excellent and new features and enhancements are
released on an ongoing basis. The product represents a huge value in my
opinion."

"I’ve
had my LRP for a few weeks now and mostly tinkering to my liking which I’m
now done with. I have watched lots of scenes to test but I don’t think I
have just sat back and watched any great HDR movies all the way through with
it yet. Tonight a couple friends and my son and I watched John Wick Chapter
3. Holy crap! I have never seen such a good HDR image in my theater. As
anyone who has seen it knows, lots of dark scenes with bright highlights.
Dark portions have all detail intact, highlights were bright, overall very
contrasty (is that a word?) images. It really was approaching how it looks
on my living room OLED other than the black floor. So happy."

"I
wanted to drop in and preach to the choir. I decided to join the club just
for the heck of it and put a 5348 with a Keces P8 into my setup. I finally
had a chance to sit down and watch a movie last night and was blown away
with the HDR DTM and Atmos track. I usually skip anything that has to do
with streaming but wow, The Mitchells vs The Machines is now the only
Netflix film that is demo worthy.
I can vouch for the guys that say that Lumagen's DTM provides a more natural
and consistent picture." Hoi on AVS Forum
"Here is [where] the Lumagen's design philosophy was
so irresistible for me. To purposefully designed and built from the ground
up rather than using a PC as a base. It is just elegant solution and the way
it should be done IMHO. I understand that FPGA, which is at heart of the
unit is still a programmable computing unit but the big difference is that
all hardware and software design is under full control of the developer,
which is the way it should be done IMHO. The only way to true stability and,
as problem free running, as possible (as all the variables are in hands of a
single developer)."

"the
filmmaker unanimously prefers to watch their work through the Lumagen. If I
ever used motion AI to show a person's film, I would be killed and then
brought back to life and killed again. We have done blind testing, and they
always choose the Lumagen. Jim knows I have no loyalty and am simply driven
by the best and have to give the best to the talent. … The guy [filmmaker]
looked at both and now has a number of Lumagen's in his houses. around the
world and two on his yacht. This story is repeated a number of times over." --Jon
